Thanks Ash. I've taken some time to reflect on this one and reflect on my own journey. The excitement of my life in Australia has never left me (and never will leave me) but there was a period where I resembled Bill Murray on Groundhog Day and Jim Carey on the Truman Show. I did 7 years at DXC Tenchology on the BoQ account in Newstead. It very much felt like tough grinding work, in a tough grinding environment. Ironically it really has two very dramatic impacts on my career and my CV. One, it established a firm track record of 7 years stable employment in my new country of choice, and two it made me a fair dinkum 'Technical project manager' and not just a generic project manager. So in summary I could not agree with you more, grit your teeth and Build the Base, your future self will always be thankful for it.
