Stop trying to fix today
Recently, I came across a quote while searching for something completely unrelated. I wasn’t looking for it, but it landed at exactly the right time.
Life felt heavy, both personally and professionally. I was trying to work out the next move, but nothing felt clear. I kept chasing a decisive answer, refusing to let the day end without finding it, and I simply kept carrying the weight from one day into the next.
Then I read this:
“Courage doesn’t always roar. Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says I’ll try again tomorrow.” — Mary Anne Radmacher
It hit harder than I expected!
So, here’s the reality, life will get on top of you at times. That’s a given.
What we often get wrong though is how we define courage. We assume it always looks like action, something bold and decisive, but sometimes it doesn’t. Sometimes courage is simply knowing when to stop. It's making the conscious decision to accept that the day didn’t go your way. To accept the day will bring no such down resolution and trust that tomorrow gives us another shot.
That’s not quitting. That’s discipline, because hope lives in the next attempt. And the willingness to try again tomorrow is what keeps you moving.
So when things feel heavy, don’t just listen for the loud voice pushing you to act. Pay attention to the quieter one that says you’ve done enough for today.
Start again tomorrow, because sometimes that’s the true meaning of courage.
