wow!! Thank you, Ash, for sharing your journey. I admire your courage in putting your story into words and the impact it is already making. Your openness and vulnerability are inspiring.

Thank you Joy, I appreciate you taking the time to read and comment. The more we begin to have such honest and open conversations the more we will make a safe and ready space for those who need to ask for help. I am so grateful for where I am today and everything I have learned along the way.

I know how much courage sits behind these words, Ash. Sharing your story so openly and honestly is an incredibly powerful step and one I know will help others to trust that they, too, can share more of their own 'whole' stories.

Mel, my courage has been built by people like yourself, thank you. My hope is that this piece gives others the safety and comfort to speak of their own journey or reach for help when they need. Let's all move on from just asking if another is okay and begin giving them the belief that they can answer truthfully.

Thank you, Stephanie. I really appreciate you taking the time to read it and leave such a thoughtful comment.

There are brave people navigating different parts of the mental health continuum every single day, often without anyone around them knowing. I think it’s about time we had more honest, open and genuinely helpful conversations about that.

And you can absolutely help, simply by sharing this piece. If it reaches even one person who needs to read it, that matters. Thank you again.

The “continuum” is brilliant, and true. A lot of what you wrote hit home for me, albeit my experience is different. The feeling of living a double life is not.

I endured a great deal of trauma in my 30s (longer really, but this is when the awakening happened). Few people knew what I was going through when I was going through it, or even now, what I’ve done/do to pull myself through. People continue to look at me as “that leader,” not knowing what I’ve battled. And I smile and shrug, and just keep showing up.

Thank you for the safety you’ve created for us all to say the hard thing. 💛

Thank you Steph, reaching just one person makes the piece worthwhile for me. Take care.
